Green Technology for the Future

Bachelor Green Engineering

“We are educating the shapers of a green future,” explains Alina Meindl, designated programme director of the new Bachelor’s degree Green Engineering – Sustainable Process Engineering and Circular Economy. Starting in autumn 2026, this part-time programme is aimed at those who want to combine technology and sustainability.

We are facing a massive transformation,” continues FH-Prof. Dr Alina Meindl. “Our economy must move away from linear processes and towards a circular economy. For this, we need professionals who are not only technically skilled but also understand ecological and economic interconnec-tions.”

The six-semester Bachelor’s programme combines engineering fundamentals with environmental technology, business, and practical projects. Students can later specialise – either in Sustainable Process Engineering or Circular Economy. “It was important to us that the content does not remain purely theoretical,” Meindl emphasises. “That’s why laboratory exercises and up to 850 hours of professional internship are integrated. Many of our students already bring work experi-ence, which they can deepen during their studies.”

FH Salzburg focuses on flexibility: courses are organised so they can be combined with work and everyday life. “We want to reach people who are in the midst of their careers and still want to take the step towards a sustainable future,” says Meindl.

Demand is high, as career prospects range from environmentally friendly production and sustaina-ble product development to environmental consulting.

“Green Engineering is more than a degree programme,” Meindl concludes. “It is a contribution to solving the most pressing questions of our time.”

Interested? Applications are now open, with the programme starting in September 2026 at Cam-pus Kuchl.
